A Beach Wedding

An August Wedding in the Carolinas 2015
It rained most of the morning on the day of this wedding in Nags Head, North Carolina. This photo was taken a few hours before the wedding. The clouds had started to part as if they knew that this was a special day. Friends and family had gathered from across the country to witness the nuptials come rain or shine.

The bride was as calm as can be, at least she appeared to be so. She was confident that it would be a beautiful day no matter what… And it was.

There were so many things I loved about this wedding, from the ceremony on the beach to the nautical themed table settings at the reception. The table settings were creative, done without fresh flowers, with sand filled vases and white washed branches as though they had just washed up with the tide. Hand bleached oyster shells ran along the center of each table. The blue and white beach balls, ( a gift from the Californians), lent a playful, informal touch.

Oh Pat, I love that you wrote about this on your blog. Believe me, the most beautiful part of the wedding was that our dearest friends from California could join us. It was a perfect day!
