Making it Memorable

Memorial Day always creeps up on me.  If it weren’t for my best friend’s birthday, which almost always falls on that weekend, I would forget to decorate.  We should at least put the flag out, and celebrate.  And we really SHOULD celebrate!  We need to remember the soldiers who have fought and died for this great country and those who have lost their lives just because they were Americans.  We should honor the men and women that are today still fighting the battles for freedom and peace, thanking them for their courage and strength.

Invite family and friends for a backyard brunch, BBQ, or picnic. Creating the spirit can be fun and historic by displaying flags, banners, flowers, candles, pillows, etc…The ideas are endless.  The stores are displaying more patriotic, festive, indoor and outdoor accessories than I have seen in a very long time. Check out Target, Marshall’s, and Home Goods for starters. Be creative when using the proud, bold, and beautiful Red, White, and Blue colors.
